Summary - January 2016
The first month of 2016 is coming to a close and it has flown by. The new years resolutions may of been cast aside and normal routines are falling back in place - which isn't always a bad thing.
At the start of January, I had set myself the goal of finding and (hopefully) starting a new part time/few hours a week job. Since leaving my full time role in October, going to Costa Rica to complete my Yoga Teacher Training, I made the decision to find a role within the yoga community while looking to set up my Yoga classes.
While I was in Costa Rica, a Sweaty Betty boutique opened in my local town and I thought I would be perfect to apply and work there a few hours a week - to surround myself in beautiful work out clothing and like minded people, what's not to like. I applied for the role as Sunday Supervisor and I got the job! After completing my training at their head office and one of the London stores, I am up and running and I've already worked a number of shifts.
Another goal for January, was to start making some changes to our home. Chris and I moved into our (rented) flat in September, after staying with friends for six months before that.
We had cardboard boxes filling up our spare room, using the sofa bed as our main sofa in the living room and the walls were bare. We wanted to make the flat feel like home, to display our treasures that we've collected along the way. Which meant a trip to Ikea...... It wasn't the best idea to go there on a Saturday.
New sofas were ordered, bookcases purchased and hours spent going through our favourite photos to put into empty frames. It is all starting to come together and I'm excited to see it all finished.
January was an exciting start to 2016 and I'm looking forward to seeing what the up coming months have in store.
What were your highlights of January? I'd love to read them in the comments below.
